We ran a story at ocregister.com on Tuesday about Bravo TV’s “Flipping Out” star Jeff Lewis, the L.A. real estate investor, and mentioned the $2.3 million house that he almost flipped. As fans of the show know, he’s now living in the house as he waits out the market.  valleyoak5731aerial

This is the first in a series we’ll do on how Surf City homes stack up with interesting houses elsewhere.

If he can get around the $2,295,000 that would be a good trick. He’ll need to because he owes around $1,838,000 on it, or at least he took out loans in that amount.

That LA home is interesting, a 3 bedroom now a 4 bedroom. 3 bath now 3.5 bath. Out of building code?

The advantage of the Los Feliz home is that it is located near very high paying entertainment industry (among others) jobs. I’m not so sure HB has a good density of very high paying jobs.

  • You can determine a motivated seller by the Four D’s. Death, Disease, Divorce & Disaster all these factors motivate people to sell their homes. As a real estate investor you help good people out of bad situations. Until you know what the other persons problem is you will never be able to solve it.

I owned a home on Clearview and as far as I know got the most back in 2005 $2.95m after that time prices have been on a steady downward trend.

The “park” behind Clearview is in limbo between the County and City and is not maintained. Huge weeds, dust, bad for allergies. Yeah the view was amazing, but I moved out.
